Rather than traversing the shortest path between two nodes, Mobile IP adds a forward- ing agent that causes packets traveling to the mobile node to traverse two sides of a triangle. Packets traveling from the mobile node back to the node on the other side of the session are routed directly (assuming the other node isn't mobile as well)
